Sensational Super Heroes Party Theme
It's every boy's dream to have special super powers - what better way to fulfill this dream than by hosting a Superhero Party. Gone are the days when Batman and Robin were the only superheroes around. These days superheroes range from Spiderman and Ninja Turtles to the Power Rangers and Ben 10. The list is endless and don't get me started on the villains!
There is a lot of superhero merchandise around which will vary in price so do remember to shop around. You can usually buy plates, bowls, cups, serviettes and posters in many superhero themes, but buying in large quantities can become very costly. Try mixing and matching plain coloured cups, plates and bowls with a few themed ones. This not only looks effective but saves you money.
Clever Costuming
Invite your guests to wear their favorite superhero costume. Another alternative is to allow guests to make their own superhero costumes at the party. Make sure you have enough different fabrics for a cape, mask, and gloves. Provide different colours and textures of fabric for the children to explore, including pink, yellow and purple for any girl super heroes attending the party!
Menu Munchies
Make sure you have enough super foods for all the heroes running around. Try making some super size sandwiches and giant beef burgers for lunch. Provide drinks such as green goblin lime cordial or PowerAde punch to keep those super powers alive throughout the day.
Gratifying Games
For something a little more subdued, play a superhero sensory game. This game is designed to test your guest's super abilities. Blindfold your guests and get them to guess a range of household objects by touching, feeling and smelling them. You could even throw in a few items they could taste into the mix. The winner here is the superhero who guesses the most items correctly. If you want to increase the pace, hold a superhero Olympics where their speed, agility and strength will be tested. Make sure the challenges are safely monitored by an adult. Challenges could include three legged races, dress up relays, wheel barrow races, tug-o-war and hoop agility runs. Design challenges that provide opportunities for most of your guests to work in teams and succeed together.
Fancy a Favour?
Fill bags with energy bars, superhero stickers, superhero colouring and comic books. You can also purchase superhero merchandise including figurines which you could add to the favours.
Party Pointers
When it comes to decorations, concentrate on one superhero - your child's favourite. Use things you already have around the house in that theme, sheets, posters, toys etc to use to decorate. Choose 1 or two colours to co-ordinate with streamer and balloons. Download some clip art and enlarge to use as wall decorations.
