October 31 = Halloween Fun

Most kids love dressing up, not to mention collecting a bag full of loot like lollies! So Halloween is a fun event to celebrate, even though it’s more of an American tradition than an Aussie one.

  • Bigger kids can have fun planning and making their outfits - do as much DIY-ing as you can at home, then head to your local two-dollar shop for stacks of affordable and fun accessories to finish off the look. Think witches' hats, ghoulish masks and superhero capes. For littler kids, keep costumes simple as they will tire of awkward attire.
  • If you're really creative, you can even carve out your own pumpkin, put tealights inside it and let it glow scarily on the front porch. Here are some great Halloween ideas from a US site (they're the experts - Halloween is huge in the States).
  • Get together with another family with similarly aged kids to go trick or treating as a whole group, or host your own Halloween party at home. Use one of our Halloween invites to get everyone in the mood for a very spooky night.
