Finding the perfect words for your wedding invitations can be tricky. There are traditionally a few different ways of inviting guests and this depends on who you decide that the invite will come from – parents of the bride, parents of the groom, the bride and groom along with their parents, or just the bride and groom. Once that (sometimes tough!) decision is made, you can start creating the words.
-
The most important thing is that your guests receive all of the information they need to RSVP and attend your wedding, so your invite needs to make it easy for them. People often choose to leave information such as the gift registry, post wedding gatherings and other administrative information off the official invite and either send this as a separate email or insert and extra piece of card/paper in the case of printed invites. Myinvites.com.au has a dedicated free text area where you can include all of this information if you wish (rather handy!).
-
Importantly, the invitation wording should reflect you and your partner as a couple. Don’t feel compelled to stick to tradition, however don’t also feel you need to be “different”. You need to be “you” so choose words that make you smile and feel the excitement about your pending nuptials!
-
We’re seeing more and more people sending invites on behalf of the bride, groom and their parents so the 3 samples below reflect this. Use these to get you started and change whatever words you want to create your perfect invitation wording.
