The Demure Hen’s Guide

Here are some stripper-free ways to make sure that a bride-to-be with a low-key approach has a fantastic time celebrating her hen’s day or night.
-
Foodie hen
Hire a professional chef to cook you all a three-course lunch or dinner at one of the bridesmaids’ homes. Get everyone to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with the delicious meal. Or book in for a cooking school class, and enjoy eating your creation afterwards.
-
Arty hen
Go a little cheeky by doing a life drawing class with a nude male model as the subject! Don’t worry, it will be far less daunting than a stripper performance, but still a bit fun and risqué! You’ll also get an actual art class thrown in with the laughs.
-
Ladylike hen
Go for high tea at a big city hotel, with decadent morsels and cups of fancy tea. This idea works well if you have lots of older guests who wouldn’t feel comfortable bar-hopping! Another girly favourite is to spend a few hours at a day spa, chatting and relaxing in-between having treatments.
-
Sporty hen
Hire a yacht with a skipper and get everyone involved in a day’s sailing. You don’t need to have sailing experience, just a willingness to participate and get wet! Reward yourselves with a champagne picnic by the water after your day’s efforts. If you’re not up for sailing the boat yourselves, hire a cruiser and sit back sipping cocktails while the sun goes down.
-
Beachy hen
Rent a beach house for the weekend (or if it’s winter, head to a wine region). Everyone can sit around and relax – swimming, reading, gossiping and listening to music. A super-casual occasion with not a penis in sight!
-
Stress-free hen
Keep the organising simple by inviting guests by using one of our stylish e-invites. The perfect way to keep RSVP’s in check and get some chatter going online about the approaching fun.
