Don’t forget your toothbrush! Packing for a long weekend

Have you got a mini-break on the horizon? Lucky you! Whether you’re heading off as a twosome for some romance, escaping the city with a gaggle of girlfriends, or taking the whole family tribe along for the ride, packing is the least exciting part of getting away from the daily grind …

  • But getting your gear sorted and into the suitcase doesn’t have to be overly labour-intensive – because we’ve compiled a cheat-sheet checklist to help you pack. Print it out and tick each item off so you have all the things you need for a memorable long weekend away. (Just strike through any items mentioned that aren’t relevant to your needs.)
  • Start packing a couple of days before your scheduled departure – especially if you’re packing for the entire family. This will allow you time to buy any last-minute items, and ensure that the clothes you want to take are washed and ready to pack.
  • Checklist for: A romantic weekend for two

    • iPod and speakers
    • Outdoor gear – picnic basket and rug, snorkelling gear, golf clubs
    • Massage oil, bubble bath, scented travel candles
