Real Life Wedding: A Magical Carnival Theme at Belgenny Farm

Antoinette and Eddie didn’t want to celebrate their wedding in a traditional way, so they created an INCREDIBLE carnival experience for their friends and family to mark their special day. The colour, surprise, fun and energy of this beautiful wedding is evident in every little detail… and you’ll see in the pictures below why everyone who attended is still talking about this wonderful party! Here’s what we learned from Antoinette about creating such an awesome carnival themed wedding…

1. A brief summary of the party.

This was our wedding reception held at Belgenny Farm in Camden. My husband and I both come from large families (I am one of 6 he is one of 8) so we have been to many weddings over the years. We decided that we wanted to do something very different from the traditional wedding. I came up with a carnival theme and just went with it. My husband was very happy that it was so different and the guests still talk about our wedding. We actually surprised the guests with the rides, games, entertainment and carnival food after the church whilst we went and had photos taken.

2. Some of the party highlights…

There was an abundance of fantastic food. From the popcorn, fairy floss and toffee apples, to the 5 course dinner and the mega lolly bar that never ran out. The guests also loved the relaxed atmosphere that we created through the theme and decorations. I loved that all my hard work to create everything really came together on the day. To see a vision in your head come to life is a fantastic thing. The guests loved the decorations so much that many of them took things home, especially the pinwheels and chalkboard place mats!

3. Who helped you to create this spectacular event?

I made all the decorations as well as styled the venue. We hired a Kindifarm petting zoo, rides and games from Festival Amusements and had entertainment from Rubystar. There was also a jumping castle from Jumping Castles R Us.

4. Any party planning tips to share?

Ask for help. Delegating tasks, especially in the week before the wedding was a lifesaver for me. Without the help a few D.I.Y projects would not have been completed and it allowed me to focus on other things.

5. What’s your next project?

At the moment I am working on my daughters Minnie Mouse themed 2nd birthday in a months time.

Thank you Antoinette and congratulations on creating such a magical event!
