Monster House Party

Monster House Party

Everybody loves a spooky theme and what better way to celebrate turning a year older than by being scared out of your wits?

When hosting a spooky theme party like ghosts and ghouls, it would be ideal to hold the party in the late afternoon or evening. This will enhance the mood and help authenticate the theme. Remember when hosting a Ghosts and Ghouls party for younger children, it may be more suitable to have a day time party and ease off the scary decorations.

Clever Costuming
Invite your guests to wear their scariest outfits. Upon arrival, welcome guests with a lucky dip of slime.

Delectable delights
For refreshments, green lime slime drink in a punch bowl will go down a treat along with ice-cream sodas and frightening face pizzas. Have a bowl of black cats, sour worms and coloured snakes available around the room to nibble on. Create your own cookies in the shapes of all sorts of creepy things. For the cake, why not try some creepy crawly cupcakes, a ghost or gravestone cake, the list is endless.

Gratifying Games
Where would a ghosts and ghouls party be without a broomstick race? Grab a few brooms and use them in a broomstick relay race. Another great game is a creepy eating competition. Cold spaghetti, purple jelly and mashed avocado and banana make great dishes to serve up. Pin the bone on the skeleton puts a spin on the old favourite pin the tail on the donkey. Have a few scary stories ready to tell, but make sure they are age appropriate!

Fancy a Favour?
Fill bags with lots of candy, rubber spiders, slime and creepy crawlies.

Party Pointers
Just remember a Ghosts and Ghouls or Scary Theme party is not recommended for little children unless appropriate adjustments are made as nightmares may result.

For decorations, uses rubber spiders, skeletons, cobwebs, and a bit of mood lighting, but no open flames. You may also wish to set up a few booby traps around the place or have skeletons hanging from doorways.
