Surviving the party season. Monday, 24 November 2008
We all await this time of year – the chance to let the hair down and enjoy a few more long lunches than usual. If your social calendar is overflowing and you’re wondering how on earth you’ll arrive at Christmas in one piece, here are some handy hints for surviving the party season.

· You don’t have to attend EVERYTHING. Decide what’s important, and gracefully decline the rest

· Don’t drink on an empty stomach

· Boost the vitamins to supplement your Christmas party diet (vitamin C is great for the immune system & hangovers, and vitamin B boosts energy levels)

· Gentle exercise works wonders for busy bodies

· Schedule some time out

· Enjoy! Remember to view this social time as a joy, not a chore

Halloween Wednesday, 29 October 2008
Halloween has enjoyed a recent popularity resurgence in Australia, with school fetes, house decorations, and trick or treating through local streets. It's also a great excuse for a party, so on October 31 (or November 5, depending on your chosen date), why not join in the festivities?
• Decorate the house - inside & out (use streamers, creepy crawlies & lanterns)
• Carve Jack O'Lanterns out of pumpkins, and put candles inside
• Host a murder mystery or a Masquarade party
• Get the neighbours together for a Halloween street party
• Organise a Halloween treasure hunt
• If the kids want to trick or treat, make sure they're accompanied by an adult. Go early in the evening, and stick together.

Cocktail Party Etiquette Tuesday, 4 March 2008
Cocktail Party Etiquette

If you want to be the perfect cocktail party guest, these simple rules will help you get the most out of the cocktail gathering.

RSVP: If hosting the cocktail party, provide opportunities for your guests to RSVP. If a guest, structure your RSVP according to the formality of the invitation.

Dress : Some cocktail parties require semi-formal to casual attire depending on the food that is served. It may range from buffet, standing appetizers or sit and stand options. Style your dress around this.

Mingling : Cocktail parties provide many opportunities to meet new people. Try to speak to all the people you would like to meet and make some new connections. Think about bringing some business cards to hand out to potential clients.
