Potato pan-cakes, Weisswurst, Pork knuck-les and lets not forget Steins and Schnapps Oktoberfest is in the air. This long weekend marks the beginning of October and what better way to celebrate than to attend one of many Oktoberfest celebrations around the city.
* Fairfield Showground, Smithfield Road, Prairiewood, transforms itself into a mini Germany with past crowds attracting over 30 000 visitors. Manly Jazz Festival

The annual Manly Jazz Festival featuring 70 free performances will be held this long weekend from the 4th -6th of October. From noon until sundown Australian and International Jazz performers will take one of 6 stages and entertain the vast crowds that swarm the picturesque seaside village.
