The time has come again to celebrate the Spring Racing Carnival, whether you are in Melbourne, Sydney or any other city, there are l many ways to get involved in Spring Racing Fever. Here are a few tips to keep you up to date with fashion this Spring Racing
1. Hats are back, fascinators are fading. Classis style milliner hats and berets are back this racing season. Invest in a good classic style that can be worn with many different outfits.
2. Try to match your hat with your shoes, and splash up your outfit with a bright coloured clutch.
3. For guys, slim fitting suits, James Bond style are the thing to wear this Racing season. Accessorize this with a funky skinny tie.
4. Back and white for Darby Day!
5. Short, cocktail length dresses are the go. Try and keep the maxi for the beach!

City to the Gong Bike Ride

Pull out the lycra, dust off the helmet, November 2nd is the annual City to the Gong bicycle ride for MS. You don’t have to be Lance Armstrong to get involved in this event, all you need in a bike with working wheels and determination, as you will be riding 92km from St Peters to Wollongong CBD. For those less experienced riders, there is a shorter and more scenic ride from Heathcote to Wollongong which is only 56km long. There is an entry fee and the money raised goes to support those living with MS. Let’s Do Brunch
Spring is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors, and the good news is that you don’t always need to leave the house. Why not ask friends over for brunch? You’ll have the rest of the day to linger and enjoy.
• Throw open the windows & doors, or set up a table outside
• Go to town on the table setting – try a gorgeous table cloth & spring flowers
• Keep the menu as fancy or simple as you like – try fruit salad, pastries, blueberry pancakes, corn fritters with salsa, or frittatas

Halloween
Halloween has enjoyed a recent popularity resurgence in Australia, with school fetes, house decorations, and trick or treating through local streets. It's also a great excuse for a party, so on October 31 (or November 5, depending on your chosen date), why not join in the festivities?
• Decorate the house - inside & out (use streamers, creepy crawlies & lanterns)
• Carve Jack O'Lanterns out of pumpkins, and put candles inside
• Host a murder mystery or a Masquarade party
• Get the neighbours together for a Halloween street party
• Organise a Halloween treasure hunt
• If the kids want to trick or treat, make sure they're accompanied by an adult. Go early in the evening, and stick together.

Kids’ Birthday Party Tips
If you have a birthday party to host, look no further for tips to keep the little ones amused.
• Choose a theme (superheroes, fairies, dinosaurs) and incorporate that theme into everything from the games to the table setting.
• A simple but delicious cake can be made by shaping and icing store-bought sponge. A selection of lollies will provide yummy decorations.
• Have some games up your sleeve. Make a pinjata, pass the parcel, or pin the tail on the donkey.
• If in doubt, ring in a little outside help – a clown or jumping castle. Alternatively, host the party at a nearby playground.

Sweet Dreams
Looking for something to do in Melbourne this long weekend? Melbourne’s newest free public event, The Dream Festival will be running from October 3rd-6th. This all age four day event celebrates the artistic aspirations, ideas and dreams of Australian Artists.
The Yarra River, Birrarung Marr and Alexandra Gardens will host enormous artwork installations portraying the dreams of today’s community. There will be a bridge built on the Yarra River allowing visitors to walk around the artworks. Live music from some of Australia’s best new and established bands will also be performing over the four day festival.
